Pruning

The annual inspection for possible Masaria virus in our London Plane Trees will take place from Tuesday 15th May to Friday 18th May 2018. So don’t be surprised to see men hanging in harnesses from trees!

The work will be carried out by Bartlett Tree Experts, our contractors for tree pruning and general tree care. They will start at the NE corner of the Square. and will progress in a clockwise direction.

Our yellow banners will go on the railings to show where the tree surgeons will be working the following morning.

Please would residents move their cars from the parking spaces indicated by 8 am in the morning so work can begin on time. Cars left in the way are at risk of damage, and will impede the work of the contractors

Montagu Square

Montagu Square is in Marylebone, London. It is situated a little north of Marble Arch, between Edgware Road and Marylebone High Street.

It was built as part of the Portman Estate between 1810 and 1815, along with Bryanston Square, a little to the west, and first leased to the builder David Porter. He named the square after his former benefactor, Mrs Elizabeth Montagu, when he was a chimney sweep.
